Macon, GA - Softball Catcher Savannah Thompson took home USA South Rookie of the Week honors, which is now back-to-back weeks the program has taken home an all-conference honor.
The freshman catcher from Franklinton, North Carolina was a combined 4-for-10 (.400) with a .400 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage to go along with two runs scored, two RBI, and one double as the Battling Bishops posted a 2-1 record last week. In a 6-2 win over Waynesburg, Thompson was a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBI, and one double. In an 8-0 loss to Madonna, Thompson was held without a hit. Finally, in a 7-3, nine-inning, win over Rochester, Thompson was 1-for-5. Also Nominated: Emily Angel, Methodist; Charly Cooper, Pfeiffer.
