Former Player Rebecca Staylor to represent Team USA at Sand Soccer Tournament

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Former NC Wesleyan women's soccer player, Rebecca Staylor, has been named to the USA Beach Soccer Team.

Staylor, who played at Wesleyan from 2012-2015, will travel to Russia to compete in the International Sand Soccer Tournament this weekend.

Staylor and Team USA will begin matches this Friday facing Russia and Spain in the first two rounds. 

"This is incredible. Becca has worked so hard through college and after to compete on this stage," exclaimed head NCWC women's soccer coach Beverly Biancur when hearing the news. "I am so proud of her and I know we all support and cheer for her in this first Intercontinental Sand Soccer tournament representing the USA."

Before being named to the USA Sand Soccer team, Staylor had been working as a realtor with Rose & Womble in Virginia Beach for the past couple of years, and also recently got married.

Staylor is a native of Virginia Beach, VA and was a forward for the Lady Bishops scoring 18 goals with 6 assists during her senior campaign.
