ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's soccer team fell 4-2 in their home opener to non-conference foe Bob Jones University on Friday afternoon.

The Lady Bishops (0-2) got off to a terrific start scoring the first two goals of the game to take a 1-0 lead just 11 minutes into the match. Freshman Caitlyn Butler got things started dribbling in a misplayed ball by the Bob Jones keeper in the 5th minute before junior midfielder Rian Pecci-Young scored the second goal on a nice strike from a few yards out in the 11th minute. She was assisted by fellow junior Isabel Neall on the goal.

Unfortunately, that would be all the scoring that the Bishops would muster on this day. BJU mounted their comeback in the second half first scoring in the 49th minute by Mia Marks before she then added two more goals of her own, one in the 65th minute and another in the 72nd. The Bruins then added their 4th goal inthe 79th minute of action to put the game away.

BJU outshot the Bishops 11-7 in the second half while senior goalkeeper Alicia Jacobs made 8 saves on 12 shots in the loss.

Wesleyan will immediately return to action on Saturday when they host Regent University (Va.) at 3:00 in the final game of the NCWC Classic. Bob Jones will stick around also and play Meredith College at 1 PM at Scalf field tomorrow as well.
