A Dominant Offense Powers Lady Bishops in Win Over Meredith

Rocky Mount, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan University Women's Soccer team hosted

Meredith College this Wednesday, October 5th and rang the Victory Bell with a 4-1 win their own

Don Scalf Field.

 

The Battling Bishops got on the scoreboard first with an unassisted goal by Battling Bishops Khristel

Thompson, the senior from Woodbridge, VA, at the five-minute mark of the match. Another

first half goal was added at the twenty-sixth minute mark with an unassisted goal by Bishops

Samantha Dell, the freshman from Falls Church, VA,  that brought the score to 2-Nil going

into halftime.

 

The second started off with another strong offensive performance again by the Bishops with

Bishops Samantha Dell adding another unassisted goal at the fifty-second mark to take the

lead to 3-Nil in favor of the Bishops. Isabel Neall, the senior from Dumfries, VA, added the fourth

goal of the match at the sixty-sixth minute with an assist from Bishops Sophia Sweeney, the

senior from Wake Forest, NC. Meredith would get on the board in the last minutes of the match

on a goal by Claire-Emma Britt.

 

Bishops Anna Yeakey, the senior goalie from Wake Forest, NC, faced two shots on goal with two saves;

while Jordan Fransee, the senior goalie from Suffolk, VA, faced five shots on goal with four saves and

one goal given up.

 

The Battling Bishops will travel to Misenheimer, NC to face off against Pfeiffer this upcoming

Saturday, October 8th.
