Women's Tennis Picked to Win USA South in 2023

Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's tennis program is slated to win the USA South for the 3rd time in the past four seasons by the preseason poll. 2023 is also the third season the Bishops have been picked to win the league since 2003.

Wesleyan is slated to compete against a very competitive slate this season, facing off against a number of DI and DII schools to go along with many ranked opponents. A few of these schools include NC A&T (DI), Belmont Abbey (DII), and Emory (#9).

For the season, the Bishops return a good mix of upperclassmen and three freshmen who will contribute immediately in big roles. In the 2023 campaign, the program only returns one senior in Miguelina Paiva.

The Bishops received 79 points in the poll and 8 total first-place votes to lead the league. Wesleyan will also host the conference tournament from April 28-29.
