Hurricane Florence Forces Postponements of all Wesleyan Games for the Week

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.- The impending arrival of Hurricane Florence has not only canceled classes at North Carolina Wesleyan College for the remainder of the week, but it has also forced the postponements of a number of games and meets affecting numerous Fall Sports.

The Battling Bishop Football team has seen its non-conference game with Bridgwater College (Va.) that was set for Saturday be postponed. It will most likely be made up sometime late next week depending on when NCWC is able to reopen its doors for classes.

The Bishop Men's Soccer team has seen all three of its games postponed this week including their USA South home openers that were on tap for Saturday and Sunday vs. Berea and Maryville. The Berea (Ky.) and Maryville (Tenn.) games will now be made up the weekend of Oct. 20-21 with Berea coming to Rocky Mount Saturday and Maryville on Sunday. The match with Greensboro College that was scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed and will be made up near the end of the regular season as well, but no date has been set.

The Lady Bishop Women's Soccer team has also seen its two weekend non-conference games in Virginia be postponed as well. No makeup dates have been set.

NCWC Volleyball has postponed both of their weekend matches at Guilford and Emory & Henry (Va.) as well. The Guilford match, orignally scheduled for Friday will now be played Oct. 7 at 1 PM at Guilford while the E&H game will be made up Oct. 25 at 6 PM in Virginia. The Bishops' game at Peace (N.C.) on Tuesday could also be affected as well so stay tuned to ncwcsports.com for further updates.

Finally, the Cross Country meet scheduled for Friday in Cary has been canceled and NCWC will now run next Friday, Sept. 21 at Virginia St. University.
