Thomas and Khussainov Grab Weekly Honors

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for February 13th, and North Carolina Wesleyan had two athletes garner recognition. Senior Domarius Thomas was tabbed Player of the Week in men's basketball, while sophomore Rinat Khussainov picked up the same honor in men's tennis.

Thomas, a senior forward from Raleigh, N.C., led the Bishops to a 2-0 record versus USA South competition last week by averaging a double-double of 17.0 points and 11.0 rebounds to go along with 3.0 assists per game. In an 89-76 win over Averett, he tallied his first double-double of the week with 21 points and ten rebounds. He also added two assists in the victory. In a 77-67 win over Shenandoah, Thomas notched his second double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. He also added four assists and one block.

Khussainov, a sophomore from Almaty, Kazakhstan, has posted a 2-0 record at the number-three singles flight so far this spring for the Bishops. Khussainov posted the wins over ranked opponents from #19 Case Western and #7 Kenyon.
