Pair of Bishop Athletes Earn Weekly Recognition

Fayetteville, N.C. - Two Battling Bishop student-athletes have earned weekly recognition in their respective sports. Sophomore linebacker Tazmon Foster was named to his second BSN National Team of the Week in football, while junior middle hitter Anna Hart grabbed her first-ever USA South Player of the Week award in volleyball.

Foster, who hails from Henderson, N.C., was one of only four linebackers to be reconized nationally at the Division III level. He turned in a program-record 21 tackles in Wesleyan's 23-16 loss to Maryville on Saturday, which included 11 solo takedowns and 3.5 for a loss. Additionally, Foster forced one fumble and recorded an interception.

Hart, a native of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., compiled a .339 attack percentage and averaged 3.1 kills, 2.6 digs and 0.8 blocks per set as the Bishops posted a 3-1 record last week. In a 3-0 win over Salem, she totaled a double-double of 13 digs and ten kills, while also adding three blocks. In a 3-2 victory over USA South rival Methodist, Hart tallied 17 kills, nine digs, five blocks and one service ace. In a 3-0 sweep of Ferrum, she contributed seven kills, four service aces, three digs and one block before notching a double-double with 16 digs, 15 kills and three blocks in a 3-2 loss to Averett.
