Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for October 28th, and three Battling Bishops earned honors in their respective sports. Senior Leifur Kristjansson and freshman teammate Daniel Kamdem were named Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week in men's soccer, respectively, while freshmen Malik Adams picked up his second Offensive Rookie of the Week award in football.

Defensive Player of the Week
Leifur Kristjansson, N.C. Wesleyan - The
senior defender from Reykjavik, Iceland helped the Bishops
post a 2-0 record last week versus USA South competition
by anchoring a defense which allowed just seven total shots and one
goal. In a 5-0 win over Huntingdon, the team recorded the shutout
and allowed just one shot on goal. In a 4-1 victory over LaGrange,
the NCWC defense again allowed just one shot on goal.

Rookie of the Week
Daniel Kamdem, N.C. Wesleyan - The
freshman forward from Alexandria, Virginia notched
two goals and one assist for five points last week for the
Bishops. In NCWC's 5-0 win over
Huntingdon, Kamden scored the match's first, and eventual
game-winning goal, in the 24th minute then assisted on the next
goal in the 59th minute. In his squad's 4-1 win over
LaGrange, Kamden evened the match with a goal in the 31st
minute.

Offensive Rookie of the Week
Malik Adams, N.C. Wesleyan - The
freshman wide receiver from Selma, North
Carolina set a new single-game school record with three
touchdown catches in a 59-35 loss to USA South foe Huntingdon.
Adams had seven receptions for 124 yards, good for a 17.7
yard-per-catch average.
