Bishop Tennis Dominates Greensboro in League Play

Greensboro, N.C. - The men's and women's tennis teams of N.C. Wesleyan picked up a pair of USA South wins at Greensboro College on Sunday, dominating the Pride in 9-0 sweeps. Wesleyan's women did not surrender a single point, while the men gave up just two on the day.

On the women's side, the line-up of Natalia Lopez, Rachel Hui, Maria Fernanda Orona, Valeria Berber, Sofia Gonzalez and Sofia Prada combined to out-score the Pride 16-0 in doubles play and 42-0 in singles action. The Bishops were awarded defaut wins at #3 doubles and #5 and #6 singles.

In the men's action, Greensboro suffered a similar fate as Robert Kjellberg, Sebastian Sikh, Fabio Pereira, Fernando Nardelli, Andres Gomez and Eduardo Ugalde cruised to victory.

Both teams are now 2-0 in USA South play heading into Wednesday's key match-up with rival Methodist University. Both matches are slated to begin at 4:00pm at NCWC's Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center.
