Bishop Tennis Prepares for NCAA Tournament Play

Rocky Mount, N.C. - After capturing their respective 2015 USA South Tournament Championships, the N.C. Wesleyan men's and women's tennis teams have waited two weeks to learn their opponents for the upcoming NCAA Division III Tourney. On Monday, head coach Andres Amores' Bishops were informed that Wesleyan's men have earned a first round bye, while NCWC's women will take on Commonwealth Conference champ Alvernia University in first round play. The first three rounds of the tournament take place this weekend, May 8th through the 10th.

Wesleyan's women (14-2) will travel to the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. to face the Crusaders of Alvernia (14-3) in Friday's opening round at 9:30am. The match will serve as the first-ever meeting between the two squads, who are both making their first NCAA Tournament appearances in history. The winner will take on 4th-ranked Washington & Lee University (23-4) in Saturday's second round.
