NCWC Golf Cards 5th-Place Finish at Camp LeJeune

Jacksonville, N.C. - Sophomore Lucas Norman carded a one-over par 215 with rounds of 69, 73 and 73 to help lead his N.C. Wesleyan golf team to a 5th-place finish among 16 teams competing in the Camp LeJeune Championships' Scarlett bracket this weekend in Jacksonville. As a team, the Bishops turned in a solid 899, which included opening rounds of 299 and 295.

Norman's performance placed him 7th among the 80-man field, and he was joined in the top-10 by sophomore teammate Stephen Bardswick with rounds of 73, 74 and 71 to finish tied for 8th-place at four-over.

Also competing for the Bishops were Allen-Michael Wilson with a three-day 229 (t-36th), and Tommy Nakamura with a three-day 246 (71st).  Norman's 69 was a team-best on day one, while Wilson's day two 71 and Bardswick's final round 71 were team bests on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Averett University took top team honors in the Scarlett bracket with a team score of 880. The three-day event was held at the par-72 Paradise Point Golf Club.

The Bishops will back in action on April 1st at Piedmont College's Spring Invitational in Clarksville, Ga.
