Bishop Golfers Take 3rd at Piedmont Spring Invite

Clarkesville, Ga. - North Carolina Wesleyan's golf team was back in action on Monday and Tuesday, earning a 3rd-place finish among six teams competing at Piedmont College's Spring Invitational. The Bishops carded rounds of 317 and 316 as a team to beat out USA South foes Maryville and Piedmont, who finished 4th and 5th, respectively.

Wesleyan was once again led by Lucas Norman with two rounds of 76 to tie for 7th-place at eight-over par. He was joined in the top-ten by fellow sophomore Stephen Bardswick, who carded rounds of 77 and 78 for a 9th-place billing just three strokes behind Norman.

Junior Allen-Michael Wilson managed a two-day 161 (81-80) to tie for 16th among the 34-man field. Freshmen Tommy Nakamura (83-82) and Raul de Leon (85-84) rounded out Wesleyan's scorers.

The two-day event was held at the par-72 Orchard Golf & Country Club and marks the final tune-up for next weekend's season-ending USA South Championship. The three-round league finale kicks off on Friday, April 12th and will be held at Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount.
