NC Wesleyan freshman golfer Frankie Schmitt was named as the USA South Co-Rookie of the Week on Thursday for his play in last weekend's Camp LeJeune Tournament down in Jacksonville, NC.

Jack Phenecie, Pfeiffer &  Frankie Schmitt, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Buenos Aires, Argentina tied for 26th out of 73 golfers with Phenecie of Pfeiffer at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate's Gold Tournament in Jacksonville, North Carolina last weekend by shooting a six-over par 222. In the three-round event, Schmitt opened with a five-over par 78, followed with a three-under par 67 and finished with a four-over par 77 to help the Battling Bishops to a second place team finish. 

This is Schmitt's second time being named as a Rookie of the Week as he also won the award back on March 21 for his 6th place finish in the Adidas Intercollegeiate in S.C.
