Golf Selected as At-Large Team for Nationals

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The 17th ranked NC Wesleyan College golf team will be making their second straight trip to the NCAA Div. III National Tournament as they were selected as an at-large team out of Pool C, the NCAA announced Monday afternoon.

The Bishop golfers are coming off a hard-earned third place finish at the 2019 USA South Championships in LaGrange, GA last weekend. They were led by senior Mariano Silvestri's -2 under par 4th place finish and all-tournament team selection while he and fellow senior Grady Anderson were named to All-Conference teams last week as well.

The Bishops' conference rival 5th ranked Methodist, the defending champs, were also selected as an at-large team. The 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships will be held May 14-17 at Keene Trace Golf Club, in Nicholasville, Kentucky, and be hosted by Transylvania University. The team and individual champions will be determined after 72 holes of play or the conclusion of the last fully completed round. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams.

42 teams and six individuals not on one of those teams were selected to participate in the championships.
