Golf Shoots Lowest Round of Year to place 4th at Camp Lejeune

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College Golf team finished 4th out of 12 in the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate consolation tournament. Wesleyan shot their lowest and best round of the year in round three with a 295 score to finish ahead of USA South foe Pfeiffer and their 917 total score was just 10 shots back of the consolation bracket champion.

Wesleyan was led by a 14th place finish from freshman Lucas Perez who shot rounds of 71, 82 and 76 for a 229 total. Sophomore Santiago Larumbe then came in 17th after shooting rounds of 73, 82 and 76. Freshman Matt Coltren then finished tied with Larumbe after improving by three shots in each round shooting 80 on Friday, 77 on Saturday and 74 on Sunday for a 231. 

Finishing in 24th place was Myles Patterson with rounds of 80, 80, and 74 while fellow freshman Aidan Harrington then placed 30th out of 60 golfers after rounds of 77, 88 and then a big improvement to shoot 71 on Sunday to lead the team.

The Bishop golfers will return to action when they head to Spartanburg, SC for the 3-day USA South Championships from April 18-20.
