Lynchburg, Va. - Senior Christian Boakye and sophomore Isai Gonzalez each netted goals to help their N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 2-1 road win at Randolph College on Wednesday night. With the victory, the Battling Bishops remain undefeated on the season at 3-0-1 overall.

The Wildcats (2-2-1) got on the board just 33 seconds into the match when a 45-yard shot skipped by Bishop keeper Nathan Mangione.  Boakye, however, tied the match at 1-1 in the 15th minute when he beat Randolph's goalie wide, unassisted.

NCWC managed just three shots in the second half, and the match looked destined for overtime before Gonzalez struck with less than four minutes left in regulation. It was then that the speedy forward took a through ball from sophomore Alambi Clarke and converted the gamewinner.

Randolph held a 16-10 advantage in shots on the night and a 7-4 edge in corners. Mangione recovered from the early goal to make four saves en route to the win.

Wesleyan hits the road this weekend when the Bishops travel to Cairn University on Saturday. The match is slated for a noon start.
