Danville, Va. - North Carolina Wesleyan scored a trio of second half goals en route to a 3-1 men's soccer victory at Averett University on Saturday afternoon. The win opened up USA South play for the Bishops, who remain undefeated on the season at 5-0-1 overall, 1-0 in conference action.

Averett had taken a 1-0 into the break thanks to a Mark Liljeklev score in the 11th minute. The Bishops, who got out-shot 15-5 in the period, regrouped at intermission and went on to net three goals on 11 shots in the final 45 minutes.

Freshman Andri Bjarnason got things started at the 49:49 mark when he knotted the score at 1-1 by depositing his free kick in the top right corner, while Marteinn Andrason tallied what would prove to be the eventual gamewinner in the 67th minute, unassisted. Christian Boakye provided the 3-1 final on a Bjarnason assist with less than two minutes remaining.

NCWC keeper Nathan Mangione earned the victory in goal with four saves on the day. AU goalie Nate Barker also had four saves for the Cougars (2-4-2, 0-2 USAS).

Wesleyan returns to action on Wednesday at 4:00pm when they travel to the University of Mary Washington.
