Rocky Mount, N.C. - Freshman Andri Bjarnason tallied a pair of goals and an assist to help lead his North Carolina Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 4-1 win over visiting Ferrum on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Scalf Field.

After a successful penalty kick by sophomore Alambi Clarke gave Wesleyan a 1-0 lead at the break, Bjarnason netted what would prove to be the eventual gamewinner at the 53:02 mark off an assist by Christian Boakye.

Down 2-0, Ferrum responded with its first goal 13 minutes later when Aaron Gustine touched home a keeper deflection of teammate Paul Maithya's shot from point-blank range. NCWC goalie Nathan Mangione had made a tremendous save on Maithya's attempt before Gustine found himself in the right place at the right time.

Boakye and Bjarnason struck again in the 73rd minute, this time with Bjarnason delivering a perfect through ball to Boakye for the shot. A Bjarnson PK with less than a minute remaining provided the final margin of victory.

NCWC out-shot Ferrum 19-7 on the day. FC keeper Justin Robinson made five saves to Mangione's two.

Wesleyan (6-1-1, 2-0 USA South) now sits alone atop the league standings and will host Greensboro College next Saturday at noon.
