Rocky Mount, N.C. - North Carolina Wesleyan and Virginia Wesleyan battled to a 2-2 double overtime draw on a cold and damp Tuesday afternoon at Scalf Field. After trailing 2-1 at the break, the Bishops' Thorfinnur Thorfinnsson delivered a corner assist that freshman Alex Mansaray bicycle kicked into the goal for the equalizer at 63:55, securing NCWC's second tie of the season.

Virginia Wesleyan (7-4-1) had struck early in the first period when Travis Walke beat goalkeeper Drew Thompson for an open net score at the 4:22 mark. NCWC wouldn't let that goal stand alone for long, as Sebastian Wiiala poked in a goal off a Samba Cande header just ten minutes later. A Bishop miscue in the 27th minute allowed the Marlins to go ahead 2-1 at the half.

The Bishops came out strong in the second period, registering four of the first six shots taken. Mansaray's impressive goal came in the 64th minute, and the match remained tied at the end of regulation.

The two teams proceeded to battle through a scoreless 20 minutes of extra play. Thompson and VWC keeper Jason Hoernke each had three saves on the afternoon, with Wesleyan holding a slim 17-13 edge in shots.

The Bishops (4-5-2) return to league action on Friday as they travel to Piedmont College for 7:00pm kickoff.
