Rocky Mount, N.C. - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's soccer team posted a 2-0 shutout of 24th-ranked Roanoke College on Wednesday afternoon at Scalf Field. The Bishops' Torben Vennemann and Samba Cande netted scores in the 68th and 74th minutes, while keeper Richard Kandarczyk made two saves in goal to secure his first collegiate win.

A relatively silent first half held the scoreboard to zeros going into the break, but Wesleyan found life in the second period, as Vennemann headed in the first goal off of a Simond Kargbo assist at the 67:19 mark.

Roughly six minutes later, Wesleyan got an insurance goal on a one-touch goal by Cande from Xavier Mensah, securing the 2-0 final. NCWC out-shot the Maroons 13-5 on the day.

The Bishops return to USA South play on Saturday as they travel to Averett University for a 2:00pm kickoff.
