Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Battling Bishop men's soccer team of N.C. Wesleyan earned a pair of USA South wins on Saturday and Sunday at Scalf Field, shutting out Huntingdon College on Saturday, 5-0, before downing LaGrange College on Sunday, 4-1. Prior to Sunday's match, head coach Frankie Taal honored his lone senior Leifur Kristjansson, a four-year letterwinner and team captain.

The Bishops (7-8-2, 5-4 USA South) soared past the Hawks on Saturday afternoon, 5-0. Daniel Kamdem netted the Bishops' first goal in the 24th minute off a one touch pass from Sebastian Wiiala, and the Bishops would carry that 1-0 lead into halftime.

After the break, Simond Kargbo tacked on another goal at 58:06 with the assist credited to Kamdem. Wiiala then added the team's third goal off a free kick from 21 yards, while Caetano Viegas got in on the action with a score in the 70th minute. Samba Cande posted the fifth and final goal at the 72:53 mark.

Wesleyan out-shot Huntingdon 20-3 on the day, with freshmen keepers Richard Kandarczyk and Drew Thompson combining for the shutout.

On Sunday afternoon, LaGrange's Keith Sims put the first goal on the board at the 14:20 mark for a 1-0 Panther advantage. The lead was shortlived, however, as Kamdem answered in the 31st minute with a goal in the bottom left pocket. At 42:02, Cande put the Bishops on top 2-1 at the break, and his team would not trail again.

Wesleyan went on to tally a pair of scores in the final period. In the 70th minute, Marcus Filho headed in the Bishops third goal off a free kick from Thorfinnur Thorfinnsson. Minutes later, Malick Chune completed the scoring for a 4-1 NCWC victory. Kandarczyk picked up the win in goal.

NCWC has now wrapped up the regular season portion of its schedule and will await seeding for next weekend's opening round of the USA South Tournament, which should be announced mid-week.
