Men's Tennis Routs Peace 9-0

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's tennis team rolled past conference foe William Peace 9-0 at home on Saturday.

Freshman Nikita Revin led the Bishops in the match winning a third set tiebreaker 16-14 at #1 singles to highlight the day. He won the first set 7-6 before falling 6-7 in the second to help the Bishops improve to 16-2 overall and 8-0 in the conference.

Revin also teamed with fellow freshman Max Robinson to win 8-3 in #1 doubles. Robinson also won 6-1, 6-0 at #2 singles while freshmen Fayz Mavlyudov, Ignacio Rodriguez and Ignacio Mercado all won 6-0, 6-0 in their respective matches at # 3, 4, and 5 singles. Freshman Jake Gibson then won 6-1, 6-0 at #6 singles as the shutout was clinched.

Both Ignacios teamed up at #2 doubles to win 8-0 while Gibson and Mavlyudov won 8-1 at the 3 line doubles.

The men are back at it tomorrow in New Jersey to battle a ranked non-conference foe, TCNJ at 11:00 AM.
