Cameron is a transfer from nearby Mount Olive University, where he competed in the 200 meters (23.96), 400 meters (52.95), and 800 meters (2:11) during his freshman year in 2017.

During the spring track season at NCWC, Achilles competed in a variety of events and set the school record in the 400 meters (51.26), 400 meter hurdles (1:04.5), and also holds the 2^nd fastest time for the 200 meters (24.7).  After running all of those events, he also ran on the 4x400 and 4x100 teams.
