Carlos comes to NCWC from Richmond, Virginia, where he ran the 800 meters and had a personal-best time of 2:00.

During his freshman year in 2017, he decided to run cross country for the first time and he won the Most Valuable Runner of the season, while running a personal best time of 31:39 in the 8K.
