Staylor, Edwards Earn All-Conference Recognition

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2011 All-Conference awards for women's soccer with a total of 53 student-athletes being named to the All-Conference teams. North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that freshman forward Rebecca Staylor was tabbed a Third Team selection, while senior defender Kasie Edwards earned Honorable Mention status. Staylor was also the Bishops' representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

A native of Virginia Beach, Staylor turned in an impressive freshman campaign with a team-high ten goals and four assists for 24 points.  Statistically, she ranked in the top-10 in the league in all three categories, tying for the sixth and/or seventh highest total in each. A defender from Goldsboro, N.C., Edwards anchored Wesleyan's defense this season and served as team captain.

Elsewhere, Averett's Pernilla Milton was named the Player of the Year, Greensboro's Shireen Unvala earned Rookie of the Year, and Christopher Newport's Ruth Keegan collected Coach of the Year honors.
