Asheville, N.C. - Freshman Abby Pawley netted her first two career goals on Saturday afternoon, helping her Battling Bishop women's soccer team to a 5-2 road win at Warren Wilson College. Pawley's scores sandwiched goals by Chelsea Laurens, Sarah Olsowski and Nicole Liette, who also added two assists on the day.

The Bishops got on the board early when Pawley scored just 74 seconds into the match on an assist from Liette. Sophomore keeper Haley Hopkins made the lead stand up at intermission with five first half saves.

Wesleyan scored early and often in the final period as Laurens tallied her first goal of the season in the 48th minute, assisted by freshman LeAnnza Ussery. Liette found Olsowski just three minutes later for a 3-0 NCWC lead before Warren Wilson avoided a shutout with a goal by Bianca Canizio at the 58:59 mark.

Back-to-back scores by Liette (from Kelly Cranick) and Pawley (from Olsowski) in the 67th and 76th minutes, respectively, put to rest any thoughts of a comeback as the Bishops pushed their lead to 4-1. Canizio managed one more score at with just over five minutes left to secure the 5-2 final.

The Bishops (2-2) dominated nearly every statistical category, while Hopkins continued her impressive play in goal with nine saves on the day.

Wesleyan opens up USA South play on Friday, the 20th, at Averett University. The match is slated for a 4:00pm start.
