Staunton, Va. - Freshman Logan Bill tallied her first two collegiate goals on Wednesday afternoon, leading her Battling Bishop women's soccer team to a 4-0 shutout of Mary Baldwin College in USA South play.
The Bishops struck quickly in the first period with a feed from Jade Gold to Bill just over five minutes into the match. Mary Baldwin, however, would hold the Bishops scoreless for the remainder of the first period for 1-0 score at the half.
After the break, the Bishops wasted no time padding their lead as Gold pocketed the second goal off a keeper deflection at the 46:40 mark. Bill added her second tally in the 60th minute, while sophomore Sarah Olsowski netted NCWC's fourth goal at 66:16 to secure the 4-0 final.
Wesleyan out-shot Baldwin 23-4 on the day, with keeper Haley Hopkins making a trio of saves en route to the shutout.
NCWC (5-8, 2-6 USA South) returns to action at Scalf Field on Saturday to host the Pacers of William Peace University. Kickoff is slated for 2:00pm, and the Bishops will be honoring their 2013 Think Pink Day.
