Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Battling Bishop women's soccer team turned in an exciting finish on Think Pink Day at Scalf Field, as junior Jade Gold netted the Golden Goal in the second overtime to give Wesleyan a 1-0 victory over William Peace University in USA South play.

A relatively quiet first half held the board scoreless at intermission, although the Bishops managed to out-shoot the Pacers 6-1 in the period. Peace held a slim 3-1 advantage in shots in the second half, but a pair of saves by sophomore keeper Haley Hopkins secured a 0-0 score at the end of regulation.

The Bishops managed one shot-on-goal in the first overtime, and less than two minutes into the second, senior Laine Hicks found Gold with a one-touch pass to secure the Golden Goal and 1-0 victory for the Bishops.

Wesleyan finished with 9-4 edge in shots, with each keeper making three stops on the day.

The Bishops (6-8, 3-6 USA South) return to Scalf Field next Saturday as they host Huntingdon College for a 1:00pm kickoff.
