Bishop Women End Season with 3-1 Loss to Meredith

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The women's soccer team of N.C. Wesleyan fell to Meredith College on Wednesday afternoon at Scalf Field by a 3-1 score, wrapping up their 2013 season.

The Bishops got on the board first with an early goal in the first period when Ashley Sankner beat the keeper and found Logan Bill on a one touch pass at the 6:24 mark.

The Angels did not wait long to answer as Christa Jackson headed in the Angels first goal in the 16th minute to tie the match 1-1.  Megan Amanatides put the Angels ahead 2-1 with a header going into the break with a pass from Davis.

In the 55th minute, Amanatides fed Ellice Johnson a through ball to put the Angels up 3-1, which secured the win for Meredith.

The Bishops finish the season with a 6-10-1 overall record.
