Women's Tennis Routs Rival Methodist

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's tennis team cruised to a big 9-0 win over conference rival Methodist on Saturday afternoon at home.

It began in doubles as all three Lady Bishop doubles teams cruised to 8-2 wins.

Freshman Fariza Abdulloeva then led the Bishops in #1 singles with her 6-0, 6-2 romp. Freshman Milena Amedieva then followed with a 6-1, 6-0 romp at #2 while sophomore Giulia Zanetti won 6-0 and 6-2 at the third line. Junior Nicole Halabi then followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #5 singles with senior Stephany Barbera winning 6-3, 6-1 at #6. Sophomore Julianna Johnson then finished the shutout with a 6-4, 6-3 win at #4 singles for the win.

Wesleyan improves to 5-4 on the season while going to 1-0 in the USA South. Methodist falls to 6-7 overall and 0-1.

The Bishops hit the courts next on Tuesday when they head to Div. II Chowan University (NC) for a 2 PM bout.
