Freshman Women's Tennis player Fariza Abdulloeva, the 12th ranked Div. III player in the nation, was named as the USA South Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Fariza Abdulloeva, N.C. Wesleyan - The 12th ranked freshman from Samarkland, Uzbekistan went 2-0 in the team's only match of the week, a 9-0 win over rival Methodist University. In a rematch of last year's USA South Championship, Abdulloeva handed Ashton Walker a 6-0, 6-2 loss in the top flight.
Abdulloeva also teamed up with fellow freshman Milena Amedieva to secure an 8-2 win at #1 doubles. She beat out four other nominees for the award.
Abdulloeva is currently 10-2 on the season and finished as the runner-up at the ITA Regionals in the fall.
She will next lead the 5-4 Lady Bishops into a non-conference matchup with Div. II Chowan University on Tuesday at 2 PM.
