RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's tennis team completed a perfect day vs. conference opponent, William Peace University on Thursday defeating the Pacers 9-0 while not losing a single game in any match.
All 3 doubles matches ended 8-0 and all 6 singles matches were 6-0, 6-0 as the Lady Bishops demonstrated their conference domination on Thursday.
Picking up singles wins were freshmen Fariza Abdulloeva and Milena Amedieva at the top two lines, sophomore Julianna Johnson and senior Stephany Barbera at the middle two lines and finally Louis Hovhammer and Ana Aguilar at the bottom lines.
Amedieva and Abdulloeva combined to win at the top doubles line while Aguilar and Hovhammer won at the #3 doubles. Sophomore Giulia Zanetti and junior Nicole Halabi then stepped in at #2 doubles and rolled through 8-0.
The women improve to 11-4 on the season and 5-0 in the conference while dropping Peace to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in USA South play.
Wesleyan will next return home to host Mary Baldwin (Va.) on Saturday at 2 PM.
