Women's Tennis Shuts Out Mary Baldwin

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's tennis team continued their winning ways on Saturday as they won their 8th straight match by shutting out Mary Baldwin University (Va.) 9-0 on Indoor Courts Saturday in Rocky Mount.

The Lady Bishops went on to win all 9 matches by the score of 8-0 in each match. Freshmen Fariza Abdulloeva and Milena Amedieva led the Bishops by teaming up in #1 doubles and rolling in #1 and #2 singles.

Senior Stephany Barbera and sophomore Julianna Johnson paired up to win doubles at the 2 line and singles at #5 for Barbera and #3 for Johnson. Junior Nicole Halabi then won 8-0 at #4 singles while sophomore Ana Aguilar won at #6 singles. Aguilar teamed with Louise Hovhammer to win 3rd line doubles as well.

The Ladies improve to 12-4 overall and 6-0 in the conference and will return to action on Wednesday to host Salem College at 2:00 PM.
