Women's Tennis Swing Past SVU

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's tennis team defeated non-conferecne foe Southern Virginia 8-1 on Monday afternoon from the Slick Family Tennis center.

The Lady Bishops first swept the doubles matches 8-3, 8-3, and 8-2 while the doubles pair of Stefanie Wilske and Elisa Mariotti got things rolling for Wesleyan by sweeping their singles matches to clinch the match. Wilske won her bout 6-0 and 6-0 as she did not relinquish a game at the top line. Mariotti then own 6-0, 6-1 at the third position. 

Freshman Julie Schoorsmans then won her bout 6-2, 6-0 at the 5th position before Ana Aguilar closed out her match win 6-4, 6-0 at the sixth line. Senior Talitha Rowan also won her match 6-3, 6-2 at the third line as well. 

The Bishops improve to 2-3 on nthe season while SVU  falls to 1-1.

NCWC returns to action on Friday at CNU (Va.) at 4 PM.
