Top-10 Moments of 2014-2015... #6 Long's Memorable Milestone

Rocky Mount, N.C. - On Mondays this summer, the NCWC Department of Athletics will be counting down the top-10 moments of the 2014-2015 season. This week, our #6 moment looks back at head baseball coach Charlie Long's "Memorable Milestone" win.

#6... LONG'S MILESTONE (MARCH 25, 2015)
N.C. Wesleyan's Charlie Long reached a notable milestone on Wednesday, March 25th, at Bauer Field when the veteran head baseball coach picked up the 400th win of his 18-year career. The achievement came in the opener of the Bishops' doubleheader with St. Andrews University and saw NCWC post a 3-2 walk-off victory.

After the Knights opened up a 2-0 lead in the third, Wesleyan bounced back with single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh to steal the come-from-behind win. Marcus Anderson and Ricardo Ciuffetelli each drove in runs to knot the score at 2-2, while a bases-loaded error plated Chris Rogerson with the winning run in the Wesleyan's final at-bat.

Long recently completed his 24th season at NCWC and 18th as head coach. He now boasts 404 career victories, which includes five USA South regular season titles, five conference tournament crowns, and five NCAA appearances. Under Long's direction, the Battling Bishops captured the 1999 Division III National Championship.

Congrats to Coach Long on his memorable milestone!
