Rocky Mount, N.C. - Junior Luis Palencia went 3-for-6 with three runs scored to help his North Carolina Wesleyan baseball team secure a two-game sweep of Castleton University on Wednesday afternoon at Bauer Field. Ryan Grant and Richard Harrell picked up wins on the mound for the Bishops, who move to 4-0 on the season.

In the opener, Grant (2-0) ran his scoreless streak to 13 innings to start the season, scattering three hits over six complete with five strikeouts. The junior righty took a no-hitter into the fifth before a trio of Spartan singles loaded the bases. Grant got out the jam to preserve the shutout, and junior Chris Ingram would later toss a scoreless seventh.

Offensively, senior Marcus Anderson doubled home freshman Brandon Wheat in the second inning to put Wesleyan on top. One inning later, freshman Trey Croom drove home a pair of runs with a two-out single to right for a 3-0 lead, while five in the fourth and three in the sixth provided for an 11-0 final.

James Lovett went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored, while fellow senior Ciro Norzagaray drove in two runs on two hits. Croom finished with four RBIs in the game.

The nightcap saw the Bishops score single runs in the first, second, and third innings, capped by a Norzagaray homer to left center - his first of the season. Justin DiSanto and Dillon Moore also drove in runs en route to a 3-0 final.

Wesleyan's pitching again dominated. Junior Richard Harrell (1-0) picked up his first win of the sesaon, allowing four hits over 5.2 innings of work with seven Ks. Moore pitched the final 1.1 innings to notch his first save of the season.

Wesleyan hosts a pair of doubleheaders this weekend, beginning with the City College of New York on Saturday and wrapping up with Roanoke on Sunday. Game one of both twinbills is slated for 11:00am at Bauer Field.
