Rocky Mount, N.C. - Senior Ryan Grant tossed a complete-game shutout in the opener of Wesleyan's 3-game set with Covenant on Friday, setting the stage for a sweep of their USA South foes. The Bishops were 6-0 winners in Grant's start, then notched a come-from-behind 12-9 victory in Friday's game two. Saturday saw NCWC post a 7-3 win to move to 7-2 in league action.

GAME 1: Bishops 6, Scots 0
Senior Luis Palencia gave Grant all the offense he would need when he singled to lead off the bottom of the first and eventually came around to score on an RBI-groundout by Nate Gardner. Palencia finished 4-for-5 at the plate with one run scored and an RBI. Grant (4-0) did the rest on the mound, scattering five hits and striking out ten in his first complete game of the season.

GAME 2: Bishops 12, Scots 9
Covenant forged a 7-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth, but Wesleyan made quick work of the deficit with 11 runs in their last three at-bats. The Bishops plated four runs in the bottom of the eighth, which included RBIs by Gardner and senior Tony Sanchez. Freshman Brad Pennington ripped three hits and scored four runs, while senior Joey Borgerding (1-2) gave up just one hit and struck out three over two innings of relief to earn the win.

GAME 3: Bishops 7, Scots 3
Gardner and Sanchez gave Wesleyan a 3-0 lead in the fourth with an RBI-single and two-run homer, respectively. The Scots would get as close as 3-2 and 4-3, but a 3-spot by NCWC in the bottom of the bottom of the eighth would seal the sweep. Gardner allowed two runs (both unearned) on five hits over six complete en route to his second win of the season. Offensively, sophomore Cedrick Kornegay managed two of his team's four hits, scoring once and driving in a run.

The Bishops are now 15-5 overall and will continue their 11-game homestand on Sunday when they host Stevenson University in a non-conference match-up. First pitch is set for 2:00pm at Bauer Field.
