ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.- The NC Wesleyan College baseball team dropped a close pitcher's duel 3-1 to non-conference NAIA opponent, St. Andrews University (N.C.) at home on a chilly Wednesday afternoon.

Junior starter Connor Stratton and junior reliever Chris Sullivan combined to shut out the Knights over the first four innings allowing just 4 hits with 4 strikeouts before SAU got to Bishop freshman reliever Grant Bartlett for two runs in the fifth inning on a two-run homer. Bartlett would eventually be saddled with the loss.

SAU would then add one more run in the 7th off senior reliever Chris Aubry to make it 3-0 before Wesleyan came back with one run in the 7th on an RBI single by junior SS Alec Titmus that scored senior 1B Trey Croom, who had doubled.

Unfortunately, Wesleyan would not be able to rally in the latter two innings as their hard-hit fly balls fell just short of leaving the park in the ninth and eventually fell 3-1 to the Knights.

Other Bishops recording hits besides Titmus and Croom were senior CF Cedrick Kornegay, freshman 3B Andrew Nichols, and junior RF Moses Vigo, who all recorded singles.

Wesleyan falls to 7-4 on the season with the tough loss while SAU improves to 14-5. The Bishops are back in action at home this weekend to host non-conference foe Roger Williams University on Saturday at 1 PM.
