Baseball swats away #5 Randolph Macon

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College Baseball team rolled to an upset 7-2 win over 5th ranked Randolph-Macon College (Va.) in non-conference play on Tuesday in Rocky Mount.

Wesleyan got out to a 3-1 lead after the first as back-to-back RBI singles from junior RF Trey Posilero and freshman 3B Andrew Nichols got the Bishops rolling. They would also add another run on a Cedrick Kornegay sac fly in the 2nd to lead 4-2 after three innings.

Senior 1B Trey Croom would then drive in the Bishops' 5th run in the 4th on an RBI single while Nichols and junior SS Alec Titmus would also add RBI singles to complete the scoring for Wesleyan, who improve to 9-5 on the season and drop RMC to 3-2.

Leading the Bishops in multi-hit games were Titmus, Croom, Nichols, and senior LF Logan Andrews.

Junior pitcher Luke Mills started the game and allowed 6 hits and 2 runs on a walk and 2 strikeouts over 4 innings while sophomore reliever Kevin Williams picked up the win throwing 3 scoreless innings allowing one hit on 2 walks and 2 Ks. Junior Reliever Noah Shrock then closed the game with two shutout innings and 2 strikeouts.

The Bishops remain home to host another ODAC foe in Emory & Henry College (Va.) tomorrow at 3 PM.
