ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College Baseball team rallied from a 3-run deficit to stun the visiting Wasps of Emory & Henry College (Va.) on Wednesday with two runs in the ninth before winning the game 4-3 in the 10th inning on a walk-off RBI single from freshman 3B Andrew Nichols at Bauer Field.

Wesleyan trailed 3-0 after 3 innings, but would get one back in the 6th on Nichols' first RBI single scoring senior 1B Trey Croom. The Battling Bishops would then rally in the ninth as a two-out pinch-hit two-run double off the bat of junior 2B Brad Pennington would tie the game at three sending it to extras.

The Bishops then loaded the bases with one out in the 10th on a single and two walks before Nichols drove in Croom, who had singled.

Croom and Nichols led with multi-hit games while Nichols and Pennington drove in all four runs. Senior CF Cedrick Kornegay also had a hit and a stolen base.

On the mound, Wesleyan was led by seven scoreless innings from relievers Chris Sullivan, Grant Bartlett, and Michael Smith with Smith (1-0) picking up the win while Bartlett struck out three over 4 and 2/3 innings.

The Bishops improve to 10-5 overall while EHC falls to 2-12. The Bishops remain home all weekend to host Greensboro College. Game one of the series begins Friday at 2 PM before the Bishops honor their 1989 and 1999 national championship teams on Saturday at 1 PM.
