LAGRANGE, Ga. - The 5th seeded NC Wesleyan Baseball team dropped their first game of the USA South Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon falling 8-0 on the road in the Winner's Bracket Final to host school and 3rd seeded LaGrange College.

The Bishops fall to 24-15 on the season and fall into the Loser's Bracket Final where they will face #6 seed Greensboro College, who defeated #4 seed Huntingdon earlier in the day, in an elimination game tonight at 6 PM.

LaGrange (29-9) got out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning off Bishop senior starter Brynner Porter. Porter then kept the Panthers off the board until the 5th inning when LaGrange added two more off Porter to knock him out of the game. Porter threw 4 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs on 7 hits with 4 walks to fall to 5-3 on the season.

Junior reliever Luke Mills came on to relieve Porter in the 5th inning and finished the game allowing 3 runs in the 6th before holding the Panthers scoreless over the final two frames. Mills allowed 4 hits and struck out two over 3 and 2/3 innings.

Offensively, NCWC tallied 6 singles led by a two-hit game from junior RF Trey Posilero while junior infielders Brad Pennington and Alec Titmus also singled. Senior LF Logan Andrews and freshman 3B Drew Nichols recorded hits as well.
