Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for October 13th, and for the first time in his career, junior quarterback Dustin Midgett has been tabbed the league's Offensive Player of the Week. Midgett helped his Battling Bishops to their third straight conference win over the weekend, a 48-21 thumping of LaGrange College on the road.
A native of Currituck, N.C., Midgett accounted for 242 yards of total offense and seven touchdowns in Wesleyan's dominating victory. Through the air, he completed 12 passes for 193 yards with a school-record six touchdowns, which also ties the USA South record for TD passes in a game. On the ground, Midgett carried the ball seven times for 49 yards with one touchdown.
