Adams, Minondo Highlight USA South Postseason Awards

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has announced its 2015 All-Conference awards in football with a total of 59 student-athletes earning honors. Wesleyan had five players recognized, led by major award winners Malik Adams and Adrian Minondo.

Adams, a junior wide receiver from Selma, N.C., was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year, marking the second consecutive season that a Bishop earned the award. He led the conference in nearly every receiving category, including a league-leading 72 catches, 1,309 yards, 130.9 yards per game, 19 touchdowns, and 114 points scored. The 19 receiving TDs led the nation and establishes a new USA South single-season record, giving Adams a conference-best 36 career touchdown catches. For his efforts this season, Adams earned his second consecutive First Team All-Conference honor as a wide receiver. Additionally, he was named All-Conference First Team at return specialist this fall after garnering second team accolades last season.

Minondo, a freshman running back from Okeechobee, Fla., was tabbed the USA South's Offensive Rookie of the Year after leading all freshmen in rushing. He ranked third in the conference by averaging 93.1 yards per game and scoring 11 touchdowns. In conference-only action, Minondo was tied atop the league rankings with 11 touchdowns, while averaging 119.7 yards per contest. In NCWC's victory over Averett, Minondo established a new single-game Wesleyan record by rushing for 278 yards. For his efforts this season, Minondo was named a First Team All-Conference running back.

Joining Adams and Minondo as a First Team honoree was senior Martin Brazwell on the offensive line. A preseason USA College Football All-American, Brazwell started nine overall games and every conference contest for the Bishops and was instrumental in Minondo's success, as well as the success of Second Team honoree Dustin Midgett at quarterback. Midgett picked up his first All-Conference honor after a stellar season that saw the senior pass for a program-record 27 touchdowns, which led the league.

Rounding out Wesleyan's honorees was junior Shebrae Riddick on the All-Sportsmanship team.

Elsewhere around the league, Huntingdon College teammates Anthony White and Trey Hayes were named Defensive Player and Rookie of the Year, respectively, while their coach, Mike Turk, earned Coach of the Year accolades.
