Football's Gillis Named USA South Offensive Rookie of the Week

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its weekly awards for November 7th, and N.C. Wesleyan is pleased to announce that freshman running back Deandre Gillis has earned his first Offensive Rookie of the Week accolade of the season.

The native of Hampton, Virginia turned in his second consecutive 100-yard rushing performance with 123 yards in a 49-23 victory over USA South foe LaGrange. Gillis carried the ball 21 times for an average of 5.9 yards per rush and scored two touchdowns. He also caught one pass for seven yards in the win.
