Men's Tennis Competes at ITAs in Georgia

ROME, Ga.- The NC Wesleyan Men's Tennis team traveled down to Rome, GA last weekend for their ITA Atlantic South Regional, their second individual tournament of the season. 

#6 overall seed Ioannis Brokakis led the way in singles by going 3-1 in his bracket before falling in the Quarterfinals. Three other Bishops also won two matches in their main draw bracket over the weekend. They included 11 seed Aditya Iyer as he went 2-1 before falling to the top overall seed from Emory University.

#15 seed Roberto Puig also went 2-1 while unseeded Nikita Revin was 2-1 as well as NCWC sent four men into the Round of 16 out of the 64 man draw.

10th seeded Ingmar Remmerswaal also went 1-1 on the weekend while unseeded Jeus Gil was also 1-1. Johnny Acosta fell in his first match, but came back to win three consolation matches, however. 

 

In the Doubles, the teams of Remmerswaal and Revin as well as Acosta and Juan Vallejo each went 2-1 making it to the tournament quarterfinals while the teams of Brokakis and Puig and Gil and Iyer each went 1-1 before falling. 

 

The tennis team is next in action when they return home to host the NC Wesleyan Fall Invitational from Oct. 5-7 here in Rocky Mount.
