Rocky Mount, N.C. - Dani Abbey, Jena McFadden, and Meredith Mills were all honored on Senior Day as the Battling Bishop softball team outscored Mary Baldwin 19-2 over two games on Friday afternoon.

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Bishops were led by great hitting and pitching en route to a 10-1 win in five innings.

The Bishops jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to an RBI-double by Mills, who had three RBIs on the day, and an RBI-triple by freshman Logan Tollison, who went 2-for-3 in the game.

Leanna Fann (8-4) made it very difficult for Mary Baldwin's hitters by striking out eight batters in five innings. MBC's lone run came in the third inning when Jonquil Brown hit a shot to left field to bring in Courtney Clausi.

In the second game, Mary Baldwin got off to a much better start when Clausi hit a homerun in the opening frame to give the Fighting Squirrels a 1-0 lead.

Mary Baldwin was able to keep the Bishops off the scoreboard through the first three innings before NCWC tallied eight runs in the fourth.  Two wild pitches brought in two runs, giving the Bishops the momentum needed to go on to win 9-1 in six innings.

Kelsi Bailey had a great outing for Wesleyan, pitching all six innings and only allowing three hits.

With the sweep the Lady Bishops improve to 12-10 overall, 3-7 in USA South play, and Mary Baldwin drops to 5-16 on the season, 0-9 in league action.

Wesleyan next travels to Meredith College to play a doubleheader on March 28th.
