Rocky Mount, N.C. - Senior Jasmine Edgren ensured a successful Senior Day for herself on Wednesday afternoon at Edge Field, going a combined 4-for-7 at the plate and tossing a 4-hit shutout in game two to help NCWC secure a sweep of Methodist University. Prior to the opener, head coach John Brackett recognized the two-time All-Conference player and MVP, who proceeded to eclipse the 100-hit milestone for her career.

In the opener, Edgren scored the game's first run in the third when she singled and came around to score on a Monarch fielding error. Junior Lindsey Sharpe later plated two runs with a single to center, eventually crossing home on a wild pitch. Peyton Hyler and Tiffany Manning RBI-singles in the fourth and sixth gave the Bishops a 7-1 lead heading into the seventh.

Despite a Monarch threat in their final at-bat, sophomore hurler Logan Lowery (11-4) was able to get out the jam and secure the 7-4 Bishop win, her 11th victory of season. She scattered six hits and struck out eight over seven complete. Offensively, junior Brittany Manning was 4-for-4 at the plate.

Game two was all Edgren (1-2) in the circle. She went the distance, allowing just four hits and striking out three. Sharpe finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of runs scored, while Edgren and the Manning twins all notched RBIs.

The Bishops, who have now won seven of their last eight contests, finish conference play with a 14-6 overall record. Wesleyan wraps up their regular season slate on Sunday at non-conference foe Mary Washington. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm.
