ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.- The NC Wesleyan College softball team walked-off with a doubleheader sweep of conference rival Greensboro College at home on Tuesday afternoon as they have now won 4 straight games.

The Lady Bishops edged the Pride 2-1 in game one before senior outfielder Hannah Ivester walked the Bishops off with the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 7th in game two. Ivester's hit scored sophomore Meredith Smith, who had singled and stole second with two outs to give Wesleyan the 3-2 win.

The wins improve Wesleyan to 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the USA South while Greensboro fell to 10-6.

Sophomore 1B Beth Braswell's two-run homer in the first inning of game two gave the Bishops the early 2-1 lead before Greensboro tied it up in the 4th scoring on an error. The teams then remained scoreless over the rest of the game until the Bishop's heroics in the 7th. The home run was Braswell's 2nd of the season.

Senior starter Shelby Godwin (2-3) pitched very well for the Bishops in game two throwing all 7 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 walks and 7 strikeouts to get her 2nd win.

In game one, the Bishops were led by Braswell's steady pitching as she threw a 7 inning complete game striking out a season-high 10 batters while walking just one and allowing only one run and 5 hits to get her 4th win. She also lowers her ERA to 2.95 as well.

Braswell got the Bishops on the board first in game one with her sacrifice fly scoring Ivester before freshman 3B Brianna Myers drove in Nichole Mooney with an RBI single, all in the first inning.

Wesleyan returns to action on Saturday when they remain home to host West Division foe Maryville College (TN) in a 1 PM doubleheader.
