Urquhart Garners USA South All-Conference Honors

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2012-2013 All-Conference awards for women's basketball with a total of 31 student-athletes earning honors. N.C. Wesleyan's Samantha Urquhart was a Second Team selection after leading the Bishops in scoring at 12.5 points per game, marking the third All-Conference honor of her career.

Urquhart enjoyed a solid regular season for the Bishops, whose 11 conference wins were the most for the program in over a decade. Season highlights for Uquhart included eclipsing the 1,000-point scoring mark for her career and setting the all-time record for free throws made with 374. Entering this weekend's conference tournament, the Franklin, Virginia native ranks in the top-15 in scoring and top-5 in rebounding among league opponents.

Elsewhere around the league, Greensboro's Bianca Richburg was named the Player of the Year, Maryville's Mackenzie Puckett earned Rookie of the Year honors and Ferrum's Bryan Harvey collected Coach of the Year accolades.

Finally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school. The Battling Bishops were represented by sophomore Alijah Brown.
